The right stakeout starts with facts about your target, respects the line between smart play and creepy behaviour, and knows when to fold and move on.

What a stakeout actually is

A stakeout in senior assassin is positional play. You pick a place where your target is likely to show up, you wait there with your water gun ready, and you eliminate them when they arrive. It is not stalking. It is not surveillance. It is just being ready at the right place at the right time.

Stalking means following someone to find out where they go. A stakeout means you already know where they go, and you wait there. You are acting on information you have already gathered, not learning new information about them.

The line between smart and creepy

Your target is a classmate. Their parent might open the door. A passing adult might see you outside in tactical gear holding a water gun. This looks suspicious, even if it is completely legal.

Here is the rule: if your target's family has to wonder who you are and why you are there, you have crossed from a game move into something that feels like a threat. If you can be at their house, in public view, without a parent feeling the need to call the police, you have stayed on the right side.

This means you need a cover story that makes sense. You are waiting for a friend. You are taking a break from a run. You are meeting someone nearby. You are not hiding. You are not peering into windows. You are not there in the middle of the night. A stakeout in daylight or early evening, out in the open, is a game. A stakeout that looks like casing a house is not.

Gather before you wait

The worst stakeouts happen because you guessed. You think your target might be home on Tuesday afternoons. You might be wrong. You might stand there for three hours and learn nothing.

Good stakeouts are built on senior assassin find your target. This means knowing their work schedule, their school schedule, their sports practice time, or their regular hangout. Blend in to your location

If you are staking out in public, do not dress like you are on a military operation. Wear normal clothes. Carry your water gun in a bag or keep it concealed until the moment you need it. Looking like a regular person waiting for someone is invisible. Looking like someone dressed for combat makes adults nervous and makes you a target for your own target to spot from a distance.

If you are waiting at a coffee shop, buy a coffee. If you are in a park, sit on a bench like you are reading. If you are outside a gym, have your gym bag with you. The goal is that no one, including your target when they arrive, suspects what you are actually doing there.

Know when to abandon and move on

A skilled player knows that not every stakeout will connect. Your target might change their routine that week. A parent might stay home unexpectedly. Someone else in the game might eliminate them before you get the chance. Any of these ends your stakeout before you even see them.
