Senior Assassin rules

The Class of 2027 official rulebook — your school

Water guns only. Floaties are armor. Purge Day spares no one. These are the standard rules played by senior classes across the country — edit the blanks, then send the whole thing to the group chat so every player agrees to the same game.

1Weapons: water only

Eliminations count only with a brightly colored water gun. No clear or black blasters, nothing that could be mistaken for a real weapon at a distance. Water balloons and buckets count only if enabled before the game starts.

2How eliminations work

You are assigned exactly one target. Soak your target with a visible hit of water and record it or have a witness confirm it. Send video proof to the organizer within 12 hours.

3Immunity & safe zones

A player visibly wearing the immunity item — pool floaties around the waist — cannot be eliminated. Safe zones: school grounds, workplaces, sports practices, places of worship, and inside home unless invited.

4The safety code

Cars end your game. No elimination from or inside a moving vehicle. Bright guns only in daylight outdoors. Any adult says stop, you stop immediately. Zero exceptions.

5Purge Day & deadlines

The organizer may announce Purge Day with 24h notice — floaties don't work and safe zones unlock. Eliminate targets within 14 days or face inactivity elimination. Video proof decides disputes.

6Who plays & signing up

Open to every graduating senior who signs up before the sign-up deadline. Once the roster locks, nobody joins late and nobody rejoins after being eliminated. Signing up means you agree to this rulebook, including the safety code. Entry fee: none.

7Targets & the chain

Targets are drawn as one secret chain: you hunt exactly one person, and exactly one person hunts you. Never post or share your target. When you eliminate your target, their target becomes yours, and you keep going.

If you are eliminated, you are out for the rest of the game, even on Purge Day. Give your hunter your remaining target so the chain stays unbroken.

8What does not count

A hit does not count if it comes from inside or out of a car, through a window or doorway, or from inside anyone's home without an invitation. Grabbing, pinning, blocking someone in, or chasing them into traffic gets you disqualified, not credited. If the water is not visible on the video, it did not happen.

9Disputes

Send any dispute to the organizer with your video within 24 hours. The organizer's decision is final. Arguing in the group chat, posting someone's location, or recruiting friends to vote on a hit changes nothing and can get you removed.

10How it ends

The last player standing wins. If the game stalls with a few players left, the organizer can call a final Purge Day or a head-to-head final round. Prize: bragging rights.

Rules your class can add

The ten rules above are the core that almost every school plays. These are the common additions. Decide on them before targets go out, never halfway through:

Teams or duos. Two to four players share a target and share a fate. See team rules.

A rotating immunity item. The organizer changes the immunity item every few days so nobody lives in floaties. See immunity rules.

Senior assassin rules: common questions

What are the basic rules of senior assassin?

Every player secretly gets one target. You eliminate your target by soaking them with a water gun and recording it, then you take over their target. Safe zones and an immunity item protect players at certain times, and the last player left wins.

Can you get someone at school?

No. School grounds are a safe zone in nearly every version of the game, and playing on campus is the fastest way to get the whole game banned. Workplaces, practices and places of worship are safe too. The safe zones guide covers the gray areas.

What counts as an elimination?

A visible hit of water, from a water gun, on your assigned target, recorded or witnessed. Hitting the wrong person does nothing, and neither does a hit through a car window. More edge cases are in what counts as an elimination.

Are water balloons allowed?

Only if the organizer says so before the game starts. The default is water guns only, because a hit from a gun is easy to see on video and balloons lead to arguments.

How long does senior assassin last?

Usually a few weeks in spring, depending on class size. The 14-day inactivity rule keeps it moving, and Purge Day ends the stalls. See how the game ends.
